SUMMARY:Structured Literacy Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Structured Literacy Clinic is a practicum style course for educators who have completed the Introduction to Structured Literacy course and are looking to deepen their knowledge and practice of structured literacy. Participants will gain a deeper knowledge of structured literacy practices\, multisensory techniques\, advanced phonics concepts\, and have an opportunity to plan for and implement structured literacy lessons within a small group setting. Participants in the Structured Literacy Clinic will be provided with individualized support and feedback throughout this process. Jodi taught as a learning specialist in New York City elementary schools and as a reading specialist and special education teacher in Westchester New York Public middle schools for twenty years. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator and holds a Structured Literacy Classroom Educator certificate from the Center of Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). Jodi is the coordinator for Chartwell’s UCSF Dyslexia Phenotyping and Outcomes partnership and has lead workshops for The Orton Gillingham Association (OGAPE)\, the California Dyslexia Initiative (CDI)\, the Indiana Literacy Cadre\, and Learning and Brain. Meghan brings 10+ years of experience to the classroom and prior to this role\, was a homeroom teacher at Chartwell for the last two years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Haverford College in Haverford\, PA and a dual Masters in Elementary Education and Special Education from Lesley University in Cambridge\, MA. Meghan served as the director of academic support and as academic dean at Lake Tahoe Preparatory School. Meghan has taught students of all ages\, ranging from PreK-4 to high school\, and has also supported new educators as a graduate assistant with Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Additionally\, Molly runs her own educational therapy practice in Los Angeles. Molly is an associate with the Association of Educational Therapists and the Orton-Gillingham Academy. She is also working to become an Orton-Gillingham Fellow.

She holds a masters degree as a Reading Specialist from Columbia University Teachers College. Jodi taught as a learning specialist in New York City elementary schools and as a reading specialist and special education teacher in Westchester New York Public middle schools for twenty years. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator and holds a Structured Literacy Classroom Educator certificate from the Center of Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). Jodi is the coordinator for Chartwell’s UCSF Dyslexia Phenotyping and Outcomes partnership and has lead workshops for The Orton Gillingham Association (OGAPE)\, the California Dyslexia Initiative (CDI)\, the Indiana Literacy Cadre\, and Learning and Brain.
