Are you confused by the best way to teach High Frequency Words? Join us for this virtual workshop where the mystery behind many high-frequency words is revealed so you can teach them with confidence! 

In this workshop, participants will learn how to teach high-frequency words with confidence by understanding the phonics rules that underpin them. In fact, only 4% of the English language is truly irregular. This workshop will unpack how to teach high-frequency words using the heart word method and what to do when a high-frequency word is truly irregular. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice these strategies with instructor feedback.

Teacher Bio

Chantel Touryan-Schaefer was a first-grade classroom teacher for 14 years before following her passion for reading instruction to become a Reading Specialist. Chantel is a Reading Specialist and Certified Dyslexia Advocate in California and is working toward her CALT certification. She recently joined the Chartwell Teaching Institute as Associate Director. She has helped numerous readers realize their potential through the Orton-Gillingham and Structured Literacy methods and continues to support burgeoning readers.
